Shanghai Sanlin Martial Art Institute

     Shanghai Sanlin Martial Art Institute is a modernized martial art institution of independent legal person status approved by Social Development Bureau of Pudong New District, Shanghai. The Institute boasts its integration of first-class infrastructure, facilities, talents, technology as well as scientific management mechanism, creating a sound platform for rejuvenation and spreading of the excellent traditional martial art culture of China.

     Shanghai Sanlin Martial Art Institute was founded in 2002. In the hope of carrying forward Chinese traditional culture, Mr. Song Yongming, chairman of Shanghai Ri Yueming Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., made an investment of more than 30 million yuan for the establishment of the magnificent building featuring western architectural style. Floor area of the building sums up to 7000-odd square meters. The Institute is well equipped with the best infrastructure facilities in Shanghai, such as training hall, gymnasium, multimedia classrooms, dormitory, guesthouse, restaurant, garage, garden, fountain, bath room, central air-conditioning system, solar energy water heating system etc.  

     Mr. Ding Jinyou, chairman of Chinese Martial Art Association and national senior coach and president of Shanghai Sanlin Martial Art Institute threw himself inMartial Art in 1958. Since 1970

when Mr. Ding Jinyou worked as chief coach of Shanghai martial art team, he has cultivated a great number of outstanding athletes into national and world champion. In 1997, Mr Ding took his office as coach of national martial art team and led the team to win six gold medals at the 4th World Martial Art Championship, which also honored him with honorary medal of PRC Athletic Sports. In 2000, he was listed in World Celebrity Blue book. Mr. Ding Jinyou, who possesses significant prestige in martial art circle with his distinguished boxing skills and effective training method, could be honored with Master of Martial Art fully dedicated to Chinese martial art. Invited by Mr. Song Yongming, Mr. Ding Jinyou assumed the office of president for Sanlin Martial Art Institute with no hesitation and donated the plaque inscribed “Warrior Building” by Dr. Sun Yat-sen for Chinese Martial Art Association in 1922. The new martial art building was then named “Warrior Building”.

     Mission statement of Shanghai Sanlin Martial Art Institute could be summarized as follows: fostering Olympic champion for our nation; cultivating the winner of National Games for Shanghai; and bringing up excellent talents with all-round qualification for the society. Martial art education of the Institute is featured with its special management mode focusing on strict discipline and regulations. Students will be educated in terms of martial art ethics, etiquette, martial art and culture etc. to learn authentic Chinese Kungfu and enjoy the best quality education and cultural education. Major courses are Long-boxing, Southern-boxing, Taiji-boxing and Xanda with Xing Yi, the Eight Diagrams, Baji-boxing, Mantis- boxing, Heart & Mind Six Pattern Boxing, defense skills and fighting as selective courses. Under scientific training and guidance, Students in Sanlin are trained with excellent basic skills, standard actions and unique temperament of martial art, and rank among the top in various competitions.
